I (Katie) had the honor of being invited to participate in University of Toronto’s Atwood Colloquium in Ecology and Evolution last week as their “Rising Star in Evolution”. It was great fun to meet tons of U of T folks and spend time with the very impressive group of grad students there. Many thanks to all who planned, organized, and hosted my visit (with special thanks to Nicole Mideo and Luke Mahler for all their organization work, and to their big team of grad student helpers too!). The quality of the student talks was outstanding, and their enthusiasm for spending the weekend hearing about each others’ work was fantastic! Not only did the students do a tremendous job helping to plan the event, but I was so impressed by the beautiful artwork for the poster and program.
